Equipment composition

The tower mill is mainly composed of driving device, tower body, spiral agitator, grinding medium inside the tower, grading equipment, protective lining and other components.

The tower mill body is a welded cylinder with a protective lining attached to the inner wall; There is a large door on the cylinder that can install the entire mixing screw, making it easy to maintain the mixing screw and replace the mixing medium. The stirring spiral is generally composed of a spiral body, an anti-wear lining surface on the spiral body, and bottom spiral blades; Some mixing spirals can also be made of wear-resistant materials as a whole or welded onto the spiral body. The driving device includes an electric motor, a reducer, a stirring screw support system, etc; For tower mills with special requirements, auxiliary starting systems are also included.

Working principle

The cylinder of the tower grinder is equipped with blade type stirring devices and ball media (ceramic balls, glass balls, steel balls, etc.). The low-speed rotation of the stirring device slowly lifts the ball medium. When the ball medium rises to the highest point and collapses from the gap between the cylinder and the spiral, it moves downward. After descending to the lower part, it is spiral lifted again and moves in a cyclic motion. The ball medium rotates while circulating up and down. The material is ground under the action of strong ball medium pressure, grinding force, and shear force.
1、 During the low-speed rotation of the stirring screw, the effects of centrifugal force, gravity, and friction cause the grinding medium and material to achieve an orderly motion cycle and macroscopic force balance. Within the stirring screw, there is a spiral upward movement that is less than the lifting speed, and a spiral downward movement between the inner lining and the outer edge of the screw. However, at the micro level, due to the uneven distribution of its forces, dynamic motion speed differences and force changes are formed, resulting in strong squeezing, grinding, and final effects such as force fracture, micro shearing, and splitting between materials. The transportation of qualified materials follows the upward movement of the conveying medium and undergoes internal classification before overflowing from the upper part of the tower mill body.
2、 The filling degree between the crushing medium and the material is high, and there is little collision between balls, between balls and the lining of the tower mill, and between balls and the stirring screw; The macro balance treatment of the entire rotating part results in minimal force on the support system and low energy consumption of the bearings; Materials that meet the standards are always easier to reach near the discharge port than those that do not meet the standards. The working principle of tower mills belongs to the category of stirred mills. Due to the lower stirring speed of tower mills compared to other stirred mills, the lack of relative motion of mechanical parts inside the tower mills, and the orderly rolling of the stirring medium, tower mills have a wider range of uses.
