Introduction to Wet Magnetic Separators
Wet magnetic separator is a new generation of magnetic separation equipment developed based on valuable feedback from users and our company's summary of past production experience. This wet magnetic separator is designed specifically for the difficult separation of fine-grained weak magnetic ores. It uses a weak magnetic cylinder to remove iron and a strong magnetic roller to achieve ore separation. Suitable for wet magnetic separation of magnetite, pyrrhotite, roasted ore, ilmenite and other materials with particle size below 3mm, as well as for iron removal operations of coal, non-metallic minerals, building materials and other materials, it is a commonly used magnetic separator in iron ore beneficiation plants.
Structure of wet magnetic separator
The wet permanent magnet drum magnetic separator is mainly composed of six parts: cylinder, roller, brush roller, magnetic system, tank body, and transmission. The cylinder is made of 2-3mm stainless steel plate rolled and welded into a cylinder, and the end cover is made of cast aluminum or workpiece, connected to the cylinder with stainless steel screws.
Working principle of wet magnetic separator
After the slurry flows into the tank through the feeding box, the mineral particles enter the feeding area of the tank in a loose state under the action of the water flow in the feeding spray pipe. Under the action of a magnetic field, magnetic particles undergo magnetic aggregation to form "magnetic clusters" or "magnetic chains". The "magnetic clusters" or "magnetic chains" are affected by magnetic force in the slurry, move towards the magnetic poles, and are adsorbed on the cylinder. The concentrate is carried by the cylinder to the edge of the magnetic system where the magnetic force is weakest, and is discharged into the concentrate tank under the action of the flushing water flow sprayed from the discharge pipe, completing the magnetic separation process.
Characteristics of wet magnetic separator
1. Widely applicable: capable of completing over 30 types of iron removal needs for mineral processing;
2. Easy to operate: one person can complete the entire magnetic separation process;
3. Cost saving: Low energy consumption, saving more than 45% electricity compared to previous magnetic separation equipment;
4. The rough selection of lean iron ore after coarse or medium crushing eliminates waste rocks such as surrounding rocks, improves grade, and reduces the load of the next process.
