Measurement principle:
Under the condition of pH ≤ 2, petroleum substances in water are extracted into n-hexane. The extract is separated from oil and water, and after removing polar substances such as animal and vegetable oils through a magnesium silicate adsorption column, the absorbance is measured at a wavelength of 225nm. The petroleum content and absorbance values follow Lambert Beer's law.
Scope of application:
Suitable for the determination of petroleum in surface water, groundwater, and seawater.
