With the increasing attention of the country to environmental governance, it is of great significance to research and develop stable, efficient, and economically practical technologies and equipment for the treatment of triethylamine waste gas.
1、 Generation pathways and main impacts
1. Generation pathway
The main pathways for the production of triethylamine are the hardening of sand cores during the core shooting process, the emission of triethylamine waste gas around the machine, and the stacking of formed sand cores.
2. Main impacts
(1) Triethylamine, also known as triethylamine, has a molecular formula of C6H15N and is a harmful pollutant in the atmosphere. The US government has listed it as one of the 189 priority controlled air pollutants under the new Clean Air Act.
(2) Triethylamine has a strong ammonia odor, is irritating, flammable, and volatile. A concentration of 50ppm of triethylamine can cause severe lung irritation symptoms in humans.
2、 Process Design
1. Design principles
This device uses dilute phosphoric acid aqueous solution as the absorption solution to purify waste gas containing triethylamine. Due to the alkaline nature of triethylamine waste gas, phosphoric acid is used to neutralize it to generate triethylamine phosphate, achieving purification effect. The chemical equation is: (CH3CH2) 3N+H3PO4 → (CH3CH2) 3N • H3PO4<triethylamine phosphate>. Due to the high solubility of triethylamine in water, after sufficient practice, a dilute phosphoric acid solution with a spray state of about 4% was selected as the neutralizing absorption solution, resulting in the best treatment effect. 2. Principle of Purification Equipment
The gas is pressurized into the purification tower by a centrifugal fan, and the inner cylinder of the gas distributor forms a pressure chamber. The pressure chamber is then evenly distributed to the aeration plate. The exhaust gas enters the absorption liquid in the storage tank through a bubble tube, generating bubbles. The bubbles then rise through the packing layer and come into contact with the aqueous solution sprayed from the * * stage nozzle for absorption. After absorption, the exhaust gas continues to flow upward to the second filter layer, where it comes into contact with the water sprayed from the second stage nozzle, undergoes absorption reaction again, and is then discharged into the atmosphere through the cyclone plate, chimney, and windproof cap.
3、 Applicable fields
At present, this technology and equipment have been repeatedly used in the treatment of triethylamine waste gas in the core production lines of castings such as cylinder bodies in China's large automobile and diesel engine industries, with good treatment effects. After being processed by this technology and equipment, the emission concentration of triethylamine in the working environment is 6mg/m3, which fully meets the national environmental protection requirements.
