A square gate is a tool mainly used in water supply and drainage, flood prevention, irrigation, water conservancy, and hydropower projects to cut off, clear water flow, or regulate water levels.

The square gate is composed of components such as door frame, gate plate, guide rail, sealing strip, transmission screw, hanging block nut/lifting ear, and adjustable sealing mechanism. The door frame and gate plate are both made of high-quality gray cast iron or ductile iron. The guide rail is symmetrically arranged on both sides and connected to the two ends of the door frame with stainless steel bolt positioning pins (for small and medium-sized gates, the guide rail can be cast as a whole with the door frame). The length of the guide rail is generally 1/2 to 1/3 of the full opening height of the gate, so the overall structural strength is high, rigidity is high, wear resistance, corrosion resistance is good, and pressure bearing capacity is large.

Simple layout, compact structure, and space saving; The operation and maintenance are simple, reducing operating costs, but the cost of cast iron gates is slightly higher than that of steel gates.

The material of the square gate body and door frame is cast iron, and the water stop surface is embedded with corrosion-resistant materials such as copper alloy or stainless steel, which has strong anti-corrosion ability and is particularly suitable for sewage or seawater environments. In places with special requirements, materials with stronger corrosion resistance such as nickel chromium alloy cast iron can also be used.

The water stop surface of the square gate can be made of integral copper strips, which have good water stop effect and long service life of metal water stop.
