Introduction to Spiral Grading Machine
Spiral classifier is one of the equipment for mineral processing, which uses the principle that the specific gravity of solid particles varies, resulting in different sedimentation speeds in liquids, to perform mechanical classification. Spiral classifier is applied to process alluvial sand ore, especially suitable for useful mineral monomers with high dissociation degree and flat shape. Spiral classifier, abbreviated as classifier. There are mainly four types of classifiers: high weir single helix and double helix, submerged single helix and double helix. This spiral classifier is widely used in mineral processing plants to form a closed-loop circulation process with ball mills for separating ore sand, or in gravity mineral processing plants to classify ore sand and fine mud, as well as in metal mineral processing processes for particle size classification of slurry, and in ore washing operations such as desliming and dewatering. This spiral classifier has the characteristics of simple structure, reliable operation, and easy operation.
Working principle of spiral classifier
The spiral classifier is mainly composed of a transmission device, a spiral body, a groove body, a lifting mechanism, a lower support (bearing shell), and a discharge valve.
The spiral classifier relies on the principle that solid particles of different sizes and densities have different settling velocities in liquids. Fine particles float in water and overflow, while coarse particles settle at the bottom of the tank. A classification device that uses a spiral to push upwards and discharge for mechanical classification. It can filter the material powder ground in the mill, and then use a spiral blade to screw the coarse material into the feed inlet of the mill, and discharge the filtered fine material from the overflow pipe. The base of the machine is made of channel steel, and the body is welded from steel plates. The inlet head and shaft head of the spiral shaft are equipped with pig iron sleeves, which are wear-resistant and durable. The lifting device is available in both electric and manual modes.
Advantages of spiral classifier
1. Simple structure and wide range of applications: widely used in mineral processing plants to grade ore sand and fine mud. In the metal beneficiation process, particle size classification is carried out on the slurry, and in the ore washing operation, desliming, dewatering, and other operations are performed. It has the advantages of simple structure, reliable operation, and easy operation.
2. Advanced technology and simple process: The classifier developed using advanced domestic and foreign technology has a simple process and relatively high processing efficiency. Especially suitable for use in large and medium-sized dry sand production lines.
3. Low speed, high production efficiency: With the same grading particle size, the grading wheel speed is 50% lower than other horizontal and vertical classifiers. When producing powders with a Mohs hardness of less than 5, there is no wear on the grading wheel; When producing powders with a Mohs hardness of ≥ 7, the service life of the grading wheel is increased by 5-8 times compared to other horizontal and vertical types. Therefore, during the operation, the production efficiency is high and energy-saving and efficient.
4. Adopting frequency conversion control technology, efficient and environmentally friendly: Adopting frequency conversion control technology makes operation more convenient. When handling materials, medium to large impurities can be filtered out. Negative pressure production, no dust pollution, efficient and environmentally friendly.
