ARTAX is a commercial portable micro area X-ray fluorescence spectrometer designed to meet the needs of on-site component analysis of valuable items such as archaeology and art.
·Non destructive micro area multi-element analysis was conducted on the structure and composition of the material, with an element range of 11Na-92U and a spatial resolution of 70 microns.
·Suitable for non-destructive testing of samples of various sizes and shapes on site.
·The modular design allows for many applications, including cultural relic protection, archaeology, criminal investigation, and commercial inspection.
·Fourth generation XFlash ® SDD silicon drift detector adopts Peltier cooling technology, does not require liquid nitrogen, and has no consumption. The resolution is better than 165eV at MnKa 100Kcps. A detector with a resolution better than 145eV is optional.
·Flexible design allows for sample inspection without being limited by space or sample size. X-Y-Z three-dimensional automatic positioning and tracking sample stage, anti-collision protection, can automatically complete point, line, and surface scanning functions.
·Low power X-ray tube equipped with various target materials, CCD camera, micro focusing porous capillary mirror, XYZ sample stage, laser positioning system.
·The strength of micro focused porous capillary mirrors is increased by more than 1000 times compared to quasi straight tubes.
·According to different application requirements, multiple configurations can be provided.

The core component of the ARTAX system is its compact detection head:
Specially designed and compact X-ray tubes with micro focusing capabilities;

Advanced observation, analysis, and sampling point positioning system.

Quick X-ray tube replacement
The measuring head consists of a detector unit, a CCD camera, and an indicator laser. The excitation unit located next to it consists of a light tube housing, an X-ray light tube, and an X-ray optical system, which are locked and fixed for quick replacement. This design allows users to choose a suitable excitation source or target material, as well as quickly switch X-ray optical systems.
Portability based on tripod
The measuring head, electric motor-driven X-Y-Z three-way positioning platform, and control module are all mounted on a movable, shock-absorbing tripod. This design allows the entire measurement system to be freely positioned according to the specific shape and position of the measured object during operation, while rejecting repeatability better than ± 10 μ m.
Lightweight Element Analysis
ARTAX has a helium protection system for the measurement and analysis of lightweight elements. Using helium protection, the measurement range can range from Ti (22) to U (92) in air, down to Na (11). The additional benefit of using helium gas for protection is that it allows samples that may have been in vacuum to avoid damage. The detection performance of lightweight elements enables the detection of previously important but overlooked elements, such as P (15), S (16), Cl (17), as well as Al (13) and Si (14).
