Nitrate ions have a physical property: they absorb ultraviolet light within a certain spectral range, which can be used to test the concentration of NO3- in a solution. The ultraviolet light emitted from the pulsating light source illuminates the colorimetric cell. There is a flowing sample in the colorimetric cell, and the NO3- ions in the solution absorb some of the ultraviolet light. The transmitted light intensity is sensed by two UV photodiodes with different sensing wavelengths. These two signals are processed internally by the instrument and compared with the calibrated values. The concentration value of NO3- is calculated by the instrument.
The analysis module adopts a 4-beam testing method, combined with special correction functions, which can compensate for the effects of sample chromaticity, optical lens contamination, etc. Therefore, it has excellent long-term stability and accuracy.
