Indoor pollution mainly includes formaldehyde, benzene, ammonia, total volatile organic compounds (TVOC), and radioactive substances. Formaldehyde is a potential carcinogen, originating from artificial boards, adhesives, wallpaper, etc. It irritates the eyes and respiratory mucosa, ultimately causing immune dysfunction, liver damage, lung damage, and central nervous system damage. Benzene and TVOC mainly come from adhesives, paints, coatings, and binders, and are strong carcinogens. When people absorb high concentrations of benzene and TVOC in a short period of time, they may experience symptoms of central nervous system anesthesia, such as dizziness, headache, nausea, fatigue, blurred consciousness, leading to serious illnesses and even death. Ammonia and radioactive substances also pose a serious threat to our physical health.

Total volatile organic compounds, abbreviated as TVOC, refer to the total content of all compounds with retention times between n-hexane and n-hexadecane in gas chromatography analysis, mainly including benzene, toluene, butyl acetate, ethylbenzene, styrene, ortho para xylene, n-undecane, etc
