Kipp&Zonen's professional solar radiation monitoring system
Solar Radiation Monitoring System
Kipp&Zonen's professional solar radiation monitoring system meets the requirements of BSRN guidelines and can accurately measure direct radiation, scattered radiation, and total radiation.
The core of the system is a high-precision fully automated solar tracker that can be installed in conjunction with multiple Kipp&Zonen instruments.
The system displayed here includes:
CHP 1 direct radiation meter for measuring direct radiationMeasure scattered radiation and total radiationCMP 21/CMP 22 solar total radiation meter and CGR 4 longwave radiation meter for measuring far-infrared radiation.
Both 2AP and SOLYS 2 solar trackers fully comply with the accuracy requirements specified in the BSRN guidelines.
SOLYS2 Solar Tracker
SOLYS2 is the most widely used solar tracker in the fields of solar and meteorological applications worldwide, with reliable performance that meets the standards of the Global Reference Radiation Measurement Network (BSRN). The installation and operation of SOLYS2 are more convenient than many other solar trackers on the market. SOLYS2 can also be equipped with top mounting plates and shielding components, and can be equipped with up to 3 sets of Kipp&Zonen radiometers with ventilation devices, forming a complete solar monitoring station. For the installation of direct solar radiation measurement instruments, various installation kits can be used.
This solar tracker is more advanced than traditional models and integrates a GPS receiver that can automatically configure location and time data during installation. SOLYS2 does not require installation or software setup. Its top is integrated with a bubble level, which can easily achieve instrument leveling.
The instrument casing is made of unique and cast aluminum, designed with a rough surface, integrated with a tripod with leveling feet, and equipped with fastening bolts and azimuth adjustment function. The Kipp&Zonen CHP1 direct radiation meter also includes a side panel for top adjustment and installation.
Due to the regular time updates of the GPS receiver, there will be no clock offset phenomenon inside SOLYS2. Once the tracker is properly leveled, aligned, and installed on a stable bracket, it will maintain accurate measurement of the aiming direction at all times. It also has an optional solar sensor that can actively track and respond to changes in environmental conditions on the bracketofPerform calibration while moving.
The working power supply of SOLYS2 can be AC or 24V DC, both of which can be used as input power for the standard SOLYS2 delivery kit. The working temperature range of direct current is -20 ° C~+50 ° C. In the case of AC power supply, due to the use of standard internal heaters, the operating temperature range is expanded to -40 ° C. In the entire solar tracker market, SOLYS2's design is unique, innovative, with guaranteed performance and quality, and achieves unprecedented ease of use. It is worth mentioning that its pricing is reasonable and value for money.
The SOLYS2 solar tracker is designed based on open-source software.

The 2AP solar tracker is a reliable all-weather tracking and positioning instrument. It can be used as a dedicated solar tracker or computerized locator to accurately target the positions of small and medium-sized payloads. 2AP contains two stepper motors, which are controlled by an onboard microcomputer. After configuring the sun tracker through a personal computer, you only need to occasionally check the internal clock. The optional solar sensor kit is capable of active solar tracking and is suitable for indefinite unmanned operation mode. 2AP has a spare battery that can automatically restart the instrument after a temporary power outage. If 2AP is equipped with aiming and shielding ball components, a maximum of 3 shielding type pyranometers and 4 direct radiation meters can be installed. This solar tracker is designed to be suitable for various application types and environmental conditions.
