Equipment composition

The high gradient magnetic separator equipment mainly consists of pulsation mechanism, excitation coil, iron yoke, and rotating ring. The rotating ring consists of 74 sorting chambers surrounded by 1 middle ring plate, 2 side ring plates, and 74 trapezoidal partitions made of ordinary stainless steel.

Working principle

When the high gradient magnetic separator is in operation, the slurry flows into the tank through the feeding box, and under the action of the water flow in the feeding spray pipe, the mineral particles enter the feeding area of the tank in a loose state. Under the action of a magnetic field, magnetic particles undergo magnetic aggregation to form "magnetic clusters" or "magnetic chains". The "magnetic clusters" or "magnetic chains" are affected by magnetic force in the slurry, move towards the magnetic poles, and are adsorbed on the cylinder. Due to the alternating polarity of the magnetic poles along the direction of rotation of the cylinder and their fixed position during operation, the "magnetic cluster" or "magnetic flux" generates magnetic stirring phenomenon due to the alternating magnetic poles when rotating with the cylinder. Non magnetic minerals such as gangue mixed in the "magnetic cluster" or "magnetic flux" fall off during flipping, and the "magnetic cluster" or "magnetic flux" that is ultimately attracted to the surface of the cylinder is the concentrate. The concentrate is transferred with the cylinder to the edge of the magnetic system where the magnetic force is weakest, and is discharged into the concentrate tank under the action of the flushing water flow sprayed from the discharge pipe. Non magnetic or weakly magnetic minerals are left in the slurry and discharged out of the tank with the slurry, which is called tailings.
