1、 Installation and commissioning of access control system


1. Power supply

Ensure sufficient power and use linear power sources as much as possible. The door lock and controller should be powered separately. The installation of the power supply should be as close as possible to the electrical equipment to avoid interference and transmission losses.


2. Wiring

It is divided into power lines, communication lines, and signal lines. When wiring, pay attention to separating strong and weak electricity, and the distance between the two pipes should be greater than about 20cm.

Power cord: The wire diameter is thick enough and uses multiple strands of wire.

Signal and communication lines: use shielded Category 5 twisted pair cables. The 485 bus must be connected using a twisted pair of wires. When selecting wires, it is recommended to use 4 * 0.5 four core shielded wires.


3. Precautions

(1) Shielded wires must not be used as connection wires for 0V voltage (power to ground)

(2) Each shielded circuit can only have one grounding terminal

(3) When the shielding circuit cannot be grounded, the shielding wire can be connected to another shielding circuit in the network.

(4) The signal ground of each module must be connected together.

(5) If there is a breakpoint in the middle of the circuit, it needs to be soldered with a soldering iron and insulated properly.

(6) Do not place the network connection cable together with the AC power supply.

(7) If the network connection exceeds 1000 meters, a repeater should be added, and the repeater can be extended by another 1000 meters.


4. Location selection

(1) Card reader: Do not install on metal objects, the distance between two card readers should not be less than 30 centimeters, and power should be supplied through a controller. If the card reader is powered solely from the external source, please use a linear stabilized power supply (transformer) for the power supply of the card reader, and do not connect the negative pole of the DC to the grounding terminal of the AC.

(2) Network adapter: The connection between the controller and the network adapter is done hand in hand.

(3) Controller: For controllers without isolation, it is recommended to use the same power supply.

(4) Lock: When installing a magnetic lock, it is important to ensure that the lock body and the relay plate are tightly connected, otherwise there may be insufficient suction force. Electric plug lock, when installing the electric plug lock, if a hole needs to be opened, pay attention to the hole diameter must be large enough and the depth must be deep enough to allow the lock tongue * to be inserted. The lock tongue cannot be inserted, and after locking the door, there may be continuous jumping of the lock tongue or a high working current, causing the lock body to become hot.


2、 Common faults and maintenance methods of access control system


1Valid card cannot open the door

1. Check if the electronic control lock is functioning properly. Check the power supply or replace the electronic control lock

2. Whether the lock tongue and lock buckle are mechanically stuck, repair mechanical faults or replace parts

3. Check the indicator lights on the control board and whether the communication between the control board and the module is normal to troubleshoot

4. Check if the communication between the card reader and the module is normal and troubleshoot the issue

5. Has the information day closing command been set to adjust the opening time through software

6. Did the operator initialize the access control system or reauthorize other commands through software



IIAccess control communication is not available

1. Check if the serial port is set incorrectly (determine the serial port used)

2. Check whether there is a short circuit or open circuit in the access control communication bus (eliminate the phenomenon of short circuit or open circuit in the communication line)

3. Check if the RS485 communication card communication chip 75184 is damaged (replace the communication chip 75148)

4. RS485 communication card damaged (replace RS485 communication card)

5. Check if the crystal head of the network cable is properly installed, verify if the network cable is connected, and ping the address of the access control controller.

4The door lock remains open

1. The operator sets the door inhibitor status to normally open, or other reasons cause the controller to be in a normally open state; 2. Controller malfunction;

Handling method:

Set the door lock controller status to normal. If the fault persists, replace the controller.


5IC card cannot read card

1. The IC card has been set with a valid reading period during IC card authorization (can be set with a valid reading period for all day)

2. Abnormal heating of access control controller (replace access control motherboard)

3. Access control read-write antenna (adjust and fine tune capacitors to enhance card reading distance)


VIThe communication between the computer and the controller is unstable

1. Using signal lines that do not meet the requirements or inferior signal lines;

2. The laying of signal lines is not standardized, such as the signal lines and power lines being threaded in the same conduit.

4、 Summary of Nine Common Malfunctions in Access Control System Locks



1. Q: Why does the magnetic lock make a sound when closing the door?

Answer:

a. Check if rubber gaskets are installed

b. Check if the screws on the iron plate end are too loose

c. Check if the distance between the magnetic lock body and the suction plate is appropriate.



2. Q: Why can't the iron plate firmly absorb the magnetic lock after using it for a period of time?


Answer:

a. Check if the power supply's 1A/12V/24V output has decreased in terms of power and voltage.

b. Check the surface of the magnet for any foreign objects (such as dust, rust, foreign objects, etc.).


3. Q: Why does the magnetic lock iron plate often need to be adjusted?

Answer:

a. Check if the iron plate is fitted with dowels

b. Check if the iron plate is equipped with rubber pads

c. Suggest the customer to apply "screw fixing agent" to the screws



4. Q: What kind of iron plate feels a slight vibration after being sucked in, and the suction force is insufficient?


Answer:

a. Check if the main surface of the magnetic lock is engaged with the iron plate and free of foreign objects, or try loosening the iron plate

b. Check if the voltage and current are sufficient.


5. Q: Why does the magnetic lock have a delay adjustment, but it doesn't work?

Answer:

a. The "delay adjustment" of the magnetic lock starts timing after power on, rather than after closing the door.

b. The delay of the magnetic lock is 0, 3, 6, and 9 seconds. Check if the time is set to 9 seconds.


6. Q: Why is the magnetic lock powered on, but the red LED light is slightly on and cannot be attracted?

Answer:Check if the voltage is sufficient to meet the requirements of the electromagnetic lock (1A current/12V voltage should be supplied)


7. Q: Why is the magnetic lock powered on and stuck, but the red LED light stays on instead of the green light?

Answer:It may be that the sensing element of the magnetic lock is damaged and needs to be replaced.


8. Q: Why use a double door magnetic lock and it won't hold for a while?

Answer:The power consumption of the dual door magnetic lock is relatively high. Check whether the power supply is sufficient (whether it is sufficient for the required current and voltage of the dual door electromagnetic lock, or whether there is any line loss).

9. Q: Why does the magnetic lock not work when paired with a controller?

Answer:Check if the "output" contacts of the controller are correct.
